Christmas Romance Novel Review: The Trouble with Mistletoe by Jill Shalvis

“Maybe I’ve already died and gone to heaven.”

She lifted her hand with a smile. “You think this is heaven?”

“You’re touching and kissing me,” he said. “So yeah, I think this is heaven.”

If she has her way …

Willa Davis is wrangling puppies when Keane Winters stalks into her pet shop with frustration in his chocolate-brown eyes and a pink bedazzled cat carrier in his hand. He needs a kitty sitter, stat. But the last thing Willa needs is to rescue a guy who doesn’t even remember her …

He’ll get nothing but coal in his stocking.

Saddled with his great-aunt’s Feline from Hell, Keane is desperate to leave her in someone else’s capable hands. But in spite of the fact that he’s sure he’s never seen the drop-dead-gorgeous pet shop owner before, she seems to be mad at him …

Unless he tempers “naughty” with a special kind of nice …

Willa can’t deny that Keane’s changed since high school: he’s less arrogant, for one thing—but can she trust him not to break her heart again? It’s time to throw a coin in the fountain, make a Christmas wish—and let the mistletoe do its work …

The Review

Holly Bells!! Christmas is here…

This Book has gotten me so excited for Christmas this year… it’s that good. So this was on my list of one of the books I wanted to read this month, but I honestly didn’t expect this level of Christmas & Book Joy.

Firstly, let’s start with the characters. Willa was an unbelievably kind heroine. She had been dealt a bit a tough blow when it came to parents but made up for it when he came to friends.  . She was also hurt when she was younger but the Hero Keane and was understandably cautious.

The Hero:

Keane was gorgeous. oooo baby! I loved him. He was so sure that he didn’t care about anything and yet he quickly got attached to the cat, his aunt, Willa, and the house. To be honest, I loved his subtle Alpha tendencies, whilst not full caveman, were endearing and beautiful.

Secondary Characters:
I understand that the other characters in this book get their own story told so I could understand the authors need to create amazing secondary characters. Their interactions were funny, they were a proper family, and it gave a cozy vibe.

The Animals:

The cuteness was just an overload. Pita the cat, was a character all of her own. she was sassy, naughty, mischievous and totally stole some of the scenes. with her antics.   Jill Shalvis had done her research especially when it came to the doggy wedding and the general care for the animals.

You’re the most unforgettable person I’ve ever met.

The story itself was engaging, and funny throughout. The inner and outer conflict (mostly the animals, and secondary characters) was perfect because it wasn’t conflict for the sake of conflict.

HUGE joyful 5 out of 5 Kisses!!!!
